BECU, is a not-for-profit credit union, which means we return our profits to our members in the form of better rates and lower fees. As you'll see, BECU offers virtually every banking product and service you might need. But we also offer the kind of genuine, helpful service, and honest, everyday value that everyone deserves. Back in 1935, a handful of airplane machinists and factory workers took a look at what the banks in town were offering and they didn't like what they saw. They realized if they pooled their resources, they could do a lot better for each other than a bank would ever do for them. And so began what has since become one of the largest and most progressive credit unions in the country. Today you don't need to be a Boeing employee and all Washington state residents are eligible to join BECU.
